The Steps star has been proving a hit on the dancefloor so far, regularly scoring top marks from the judges.

Last night saw Faye and pro partner Giovanni Pernice Foxtrot to Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mar, scoring a strong 33 points from the panel.

But off camera, Faye has admitted she’s been struggling.

“It’s so tough and I’ve been having lots of sleepless nights,” she said this weekend. “I’m not dreaming about it, or should I say, having nightmares.

“But lack of sleep is definitely an issue for me right now. I think it’s because everything is so exciting but also it’s nerve-racking as well.”

She explained: “It’s a great job to get and I was so relieved to get the first live show out of the way so I could know how my body was going to react to the nerves.

“I feel like now I am a little better at being able to wrap them up and keep them under control.”

In an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, Faye also addressed claims it was ‘unfair’ for her to be taking part given her past dance experience.

She said: “I’m known for throwing shapes with Steps but this is a new ball game. There are so many details in the techniques for each dance. You find muscles you never knew you had.

“It takes me about a day to learn the routine, the actual dance, which isn’t tricky. But then to nail down the style and technique is tough. I’m used to doing more hand choreography rather than using my feet!

“I feel it’s a little bit like being a swan, you have to make everything up top look elegant but then your feet are going like the clappers.”
