Lewis Flanagan is the current favourite to win Big Brother 2018.
However Cameron Cole has seen an avalanche of fresh support to win Big Brother after he publicly and emotionally came out as gay to his fellow housemates and the world.
The 18-year-old’s odds have dramatically been slashed from 6/1 to 9/2 after punters rally behind him following his brave announcement on TV.
Lewis F has also been hailed for his support of Cameron during his journey into finding the strength to come out. After saving himself from the latest eviction, Lewis has in fact shortened as the favourite to win and is now 9/4 from 7/2 because of his emotional support for Cameron.
Irish housemate Cian Carrigan (9/2), who is also gay, jumped to Cameron’s side to welcome him to the LGBTQ community and ‘the rest of his life’. The support for the Tipperary native has grown off the back his unwavering friendship with Cameron and he now poses a substantial payout for BoyleSports should he win.
Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented: “It was an emotional episode of Big Brother, seeing Cameron Cole finally open up and come out as gay. The announcement has had an effect on the betting in the most positive way as our customers have come out in support of Cameron, backing him into 9/2 from 6/1.”
She added “Punters continued their support of those who helped Cameron along his journey to revealing his ‘authentic self’ with Lewis F, who stood by his side and helped with the announcement, shortening as the favourite to win. Cian’s the new large liability in the book after a siege of bets came in as the gay Tipperary native stood in support of his housemate.”
