The line up of Dancing On Ice 2019 contestants were confirmed last week with twelve names on the line up.

Grease legend Didi Conn, most famous for her role as Frenchie in the hit musical movie, and Love Island star Wes Nelson completed the cast.

They join reality star Gemma Collins, actor Richard Blackwood, dancer James Jordan, Westlife singer Brian McFadden, TV personality Saira Khan, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, Aussie actor Mark Little, soap star Jane Danson and X Factor’s Saara Aalto.

They’ll be getting their skates and sequins on ready to compete against one another in the quest for glory.

The group got together this week for their very first training session with the show’s new Associate Creative Director Daniel Whiston.

The skater had been a professional on the ITV show for ten series before taking on his new role. Dan joined the show for its original series in 2006, which he won with Gaynor Faye. He also won in 2010 with Hayley Tamaddon and 2013 with Beth Tweddle.

Dan said: “I’ve won the show three times, which makes now the perfect time to take the step up to this new role as Associate Creative Director, which will give me the opportunity to work closely with all of our new celebrities, and I can’t wait to get going.”

Sharing a picture of the celebs from rehearsals, Dan tweeted: “Well Done @dancingonice Team 2019! SMASHED IT?x ”

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again return to present the series while Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean made their debut as judges.
