Susannah Constantine gave one of Strictly’s ‘worst EVER’ performances on Saturday night, says Craig Revel Horwood.

At the bottom end of the leaderboard, Susannah Constantine & Anton du Beke left us with plenty to remember at the weekend with their Samba to Tico Tico by Carmen Miranda.

They scored only 12 points – with Craig awarding just ONE point – after a “car crash” routine.

“The best part for me was when you fell on the floor at the end,” Craig quipped.

Speaking this week about the routine, Craig branded it “one of the worst” in 14 years on the show.

He said: “I think the last time I gave someone a ‘one’ was nine years ago. So she’s broken my silence on my vow of never giving anyone a ‘one’.”

He told The Sun newspaper at the Best Heroes Awards: “Bless her I had to talk to her after the show and we just had a really good chat in the BBC bar about it just saying ‘look you’ve just got to relax and pull yourself together and try and get on with it, pick yourself, forget that ever happened’.

“And hopefully, she’s got a ballroom dance next week and she’s in the ballroom master’s arms. She’s being looked after very very well.”

At the other end of the first week leaderboard, Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts topped the table.

The popstars scored the joint best marks of the opening night with 29 points out of a possible 40.

The pair had been tipped to do well before the series given their past dance experience and didn’t disappoint.

Ashley and pro partner Pasha Kovalev danced the Viennese Waltz to Perfect by Ed Sheeran featuring Beyoncé while Faye & Giovanni Pernice closed the show with a Cha Cha Cha to Lullaby by Sigala featuring Paloma Faith.

As always, no celeb went home the opening weekend but the judges’ marks will carry forward to this weekend, where they’ll help determine the bottom two couples.

They will have to dance again in Sunday night’s results show, where one couple be the first to be sent home.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One.
