There is a new favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2018 ahead ofSaturday's first live show.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens this weekend when the celebrities and their professional dance partners take to the dancefloor for the first time.

There has been yet another powershift in the betting as Capital FM DJ Vick Hope takes over as the new 11/4 favourite to win.

Following launch night, where celebs were paired with their partners, Hope joined Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts as the joint 11/4 favourite. However she was eased back out to the 3/1 second favourite, leaving Ashley Roberts as the sole 11/4 frontrunner once again.

Punters have begun to scramble to get behind their favourite before the inevitable shift in the market following their first performances and it has resulted in Vick replacing Ashley as the 11/4 favourite as Ashley drifts out to 7/2 second favouritism.

BBC Three documentary maker Stacey Dooley and Red Dwarf’s Danny John-Jules are next as they are locked at 7/1 apiece with Steps’ Faye Tozer and YouTuber Joe Sugg priced at 12/1.

Those needing to win the audience and judges over in the first week are outsiders This Morning’s Ranj Singh (28/1), BBC journalist Kate Silverton (33/1), comedian Seann Walsh (50/1) and fashion TV presenter Susannah Constantine (100/1).

Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented: “We have seen an influx of bets on Vick Hope in the lead up to the first live shows and performances, resulting in her taking over the head of the betting as the 11/4 frontrunner for the Glitterball trophy.”

She added: “Ashley Roberts has suffered a drift from 11/4 to 7/2 as punters look for someone who hasn’t got a background in dance already, as they tend to fall at the final hurdle on Strictly.”
