Big Brother 2018 contestant Ellis Hillon has been REMOVED for 'offensive Tweets'.
Not more than one day after the launch of Big Brother's new series, one of this year's housemates has found themselves embroiled in controversy.
20-year-old Ellis Hillon was ejected by show bosses on Saturday after old Twitter posts resurfaced.
A spokesperson for Big Brother announced on Saturday evening: "As a result of our investigation into offensive and unacceptable posts on social media, Ellis Hillon has been removed from the Big Brother House."
The messages sent from a now deleted account allegedly linked to Ellis included use of the 'N Word' and Tweets about the September 11th terrorist attacks.
According to the Daily Mirror, Ellis is also at risk of losing her job at McDonald's.
A spokesperson for the fast food chain told the newspaper: "We do not comment on individual employees but can confirm we are looking into these alleged social media posts."
Ellis was the second-youngest of this year's BBUK housemates.
Speaking before Friday night's launch show, she said: "I have always been a fan of the show. When I was watching Celebrity Big Brother in January with my friend, and I said I would really love to be there, my friend was like, ‘Why don’t you apply?’ And I was like, ‘No, I will never get on it,’ and she was like, ‘Go on.’
"So I applied, and I honestly thought I would never hear anything back. And then one day, I was having a really bad day, like I was honestly really upset, so I went to my friend’s house – the one who helped me apply, she filmed my video - and then I got a phone call from an unknown number. I normally don’t answer them, but they asked me to come to an audition day. I was like, ‘Oh my.’"
Currently single, Ellis says she's open to finding love in the house but insisted: "I would not have sex on camera, not a chance. If anyone got a bit jazzy next to me I would be fuming, that is disgusting. I would not do that on TV as my wee gran is 80. I don’t want to kill her off. Do you know what I mean?"
With Ellis gone, now 13 housemates remain in the house. Channel 5 has yet to say if she will be replaced.
Big Brother 2018 airs Sundays-Fridays on Channel 5 at 10PM.
