Love Island ‘couple’ Laura Anderson and Paul Knops have split up.

Laura & Paul finished as runners up on this year’s show despite not being in an official couple.

A few weeks after the series, they revealed they were seeing one another but still not ‘official’.

Laura explained at the time: “We are exclusively seeing each other and we are not speaking to anyone else or anything like that, but there is a lot of pressure on us…”

Paul added: “It’s not like we’ve sat down and said ‘are we boyfriend and girlfriend’… but typically, I guess we are.”

Now, two months on from the end of Love Island, they’ve called it a day.

“Laura and Paul have been so busy since the show finished and both had holidays planned without each other – so have ended up spending a lot of time apart,” a source explained.

They told The Sun newspaper: “They saw each other on Saturday night but only for a personal appearance and things weren’t the same between them so they have decided to cool off their romance.

“Neither of them will be ready to speak about their split in public just yet but they may well do later this week once it has sunk in.”

In a chat with OK! Magazine this week, Laura gave her side of the split: “When we came out of the villa there was a lot of work related things we did together and then Paul went away for three weeks.

“He went to the Burning Man festival in America and he couldn’t get phone signal for a week. I was absolutely fine with that. I trusted him not to do things with other girls, which he didn’t.

“I was hoping that when he came back we’d spend more time together and build a proper relationship out of the villa. It didn’t happen.”

As it stands, the other couples from this year’s Love Island final – including winners Dani Dyer & Jack Fincham – remain together.

Also making it to the end of 2018’s season were Josh Denzel & Kazimir ‘Kaz’ Crossley and Megan Barton Hanson & Wes Nelson.

Love Island will return to ITV2 next summer.
