A very first launch night twist has been revealed for Big Brother 2018.
In Monday’s Celebrity Big Brother live final, host Emma Willis introduced details of the new series, starting this Friday (September 14).
Previously in last Friday’s show, Emma had revealed a teaser of the upcoming ‘civilian’ series
She explained at the time: “The housemates have been put into lock down so it means we’ve got the green light to show a first look at who is entering.”
The short teaser saw cryptic shots of the new cast, with a tagline ‘Let The Mind Games Begin’.
In the CBB final, Emma returned with more to say: “The housemates have been hidden away for 72 hours now with no contact from the outside world.”
She said that this year’s Big Brother would be ‘the most competitive ever’ and us viewers would have more influence over the house more than ever before.
And Emma then explained that the first twist would happen before launch, saying: “One of the new housemates will get an advantage in the game live on launch night, and you will choose who.”
A series of clips then teased the housemates, featuring more cryptic VTs. It revealed the housemates’ hometowns, jobs and ages alongside a quote from them but not their full identities.
“It’s an instant social experiment. Based on those first impressions, who do you want to give the advantage to?” asked Emma.
The full twist and result of the poll will be revealed alongside the identity of all the housemates during tonight’s launch.
Meanwhile, on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, Rylan Clark-Neal revealed how a small ‘Eye Token’ would be changing the way the game is played this year.
It could be the last ever Big Brother series and Channel 5 are going all out with the new look.
After releasing the new Big Brother eye, they teased last week: “‘Big Brother’ is ready with a bold new series of tasks and twists to challenge and surprise the housemates.”
Alongside the main show, Big Brother’s Bit on the Side returns weeknights with Rylan Clark-Neal.
It all kicks off on Friday, September 14 at 9PM on Channel 5.
