Many viewers were asking where Ryan was in yesterday's episode, after he missed the day of house action.
In Thursday's highlights, housemates reacted to viewer tweets - unaware they had all been written by Kirstie - while the group also faced social dilemmas such as who should pay on the first date.
But Ryan was absent for everything, seen only briefly in the spare bedroom.
"Ryan is feeling unwell and on doctor's orders will be spending the day in the spare bedroom," narrator Marcus Bentley announced.
It was ironically the same spare room that Roxanne Pallett had retreated to after her clashes with Ryan.
Roxanne has hit headlines over the past week after her actions on this year's Celebrity Big Brother.
She left the house on Friday night in the wake of controversial claims she had made against fellow housemate Ryan.
In Monday night's live show, Roxanne spoke to Emma in a pre-recorded interview about the 'punchgate' scandal. She said: "I'm the most hated girl in Britain right now. It's the title I feel everyone has given me right now. All I can do is own it, accept it and apologise."
In this evening's show (Friday), Ryan returns to the house to a hero's welcome.
"Hooray, how you doing? Where you been?" Nick reacts.
"I made it!" jokes Ryan.
Currently a total of seven celebs remain in the house: Alongside Corrie actor Ryan are Hollywood actress Kirstie Alley, The Only Way Is Essex star Dan Osborne and Gabby Allen, a Love Islander from Season 3 in 2017.
Also on the cast are comic, Radio and TV presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli, TV psychic Sally Morgan and finally rogue trader Nick Leeson.
This week, two housemates face the axe in the latest public vote.
It'll be the last eviction of the series, coming just days ahead of the grand final live on Monday night.
Housemates nominated on Tuesday and Hardeep and Sally were left up for eviction after a round of 'killer nominations'.
Celebrity Big Brother 2018 continues nightly on Channel 5. The live eviction airs Friday night. The final airs live on Monday night, September 10.
