The Greatest Dancer: First look at Cheryl, Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison filming new show
Here’s a very first look at new BBC One series The Greatest Dancer.
Last week saw the BBC announce that Cheryl, Matthew Morrison and Oti Mabuse would make up ‘Dance Captains’ on the new talent show.
The programme is produced by Simon Cowell’s Syco company together with the makers of Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor.
The Greatest Dancer aims to find the UK’s best dancer across a wide variety of genres.
Cheryl, Matthew and Oti have been holding auditions over this week and sharing clips online.

In one, Cheryl steps up on stage alongside Oti to dance.
In the clip shared on Twitter, there are cheers as the pair perform hand in hand in front of the audience.
Speaking about her new role, Cheryl said: “I’m so excited to be part of The Greatest Dancer! I’m looking for acts with real passion, who are going to push boundaries and give it their all.
“From my own dance background, I know the dedication and commitment dancing takes. I can’t wait to get started.”
She tweeted from filming: “Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that attended the auditions for The Greatest Dancer the past few days! You made some great decisions ???????♀️ and also made it a really fun few days ???”
Alongside the former X Factor star is Matthew Morrison, the Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Broadway legend famous for playing Will Schuester in the hit TV series Glee.
“This is such a powerful moment for me. It’s wonderful to continue bringing music and dance into peoples’ lives like we did on Glee,” he said. “My sincere hope is that I can uplift and encourage all the dancers here reach their greatness.”
Completing the trio is Strictly pro dancer Oti Mabuse .
Oti praised: “I’m looking forward to finding a dancer who can elicit emotion from the audience. I’m looking forward to being able to find amazing new talent and help them unlock their greatest potential.
“I can’t explain how excited I am to be a part of this show!”
She tweeted after filming wrapped up: “It’s been 3 days of absolute fun, laughter and EXCEPTIONAL dancing ?? ❤️ and once in a while @aleshaofficial and I whip the shoes off and sing and dance(well she sings…I ruin the songs) last day today of filming, audience has been fantastic every time and I’m loving every bit of it

Alesha Dixon and Diversity member Jordan Banjo will host the series.
The Greatest Dancer is due to start in 2019.
The show is expected to air on Saturday nights.
