Love Island 2018: Alexandra Cane's mum confronts Alex George

A miserable Alexandra.

Alexandra Cane's mum has lots to say about Alex George on Love Island 2018 tonight.

In their toughest task yet, the couples must 'meet the parents' this evening as they finally hear what their friends and family have to say about their other halves.

Throughout the day, each of the Islanders receives a visit from two of their loved ones, and amidst tears and a lot of emotion, the families give their thoughts on the couples.

Having pledged to remain friends throughout the rest of their time in the villa, Alex and Alexandra’s rocky few days are about to be revisited when Alexandra’s mum arrives and gives her own take on the drama.

As Alexandra pushes her for her judgement on Alex, her mum Janice tells her: “This is from our perspective part of the problem. I’ve been trying to pull myself back from constantly feeling ‘I could kill him!’ He thought he could just drop you and pick you up at whim, and that’s not how life works.

"But keep it in perspective, and at the end of it all I just put my trust in you, and I tell you what that’s where you’ve surprised me. I’m so proud of you.”

Alex’s mum Jane meanwhile assures Alex he has her support in his own handling of the situation: “I really like Alexandra. She seems such a lovely girl.

"It was hard to watch that conversation. But if you’re not feeling it you’re just being honest. The easiest thing to do would have been just to let it run.”

When the two families do come together, Alexandra’s mum pulls Alex up on Alex’s attitude towards Alexandra after the last recoupling: “That was one thing that I didn’t grasp. When you recoupled and you seemed to expect her to be grateful, and you I think made some comment ‘what’s the matter with her, why she’s so grumpy?’

"What did you expect a girl to feel like after she’d been rejected and then you dined to bring her back to her side? I thought ‘hey young man, I’ll have words with you!”

Love Island 2018 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
