Eyal Booker’s Love Island co-stars ‘furious’ over his switch to Celebs Go Dating?

Ex-islanders reportedly angry after turning down offers due to their ITV contracts

Former Love Island contestants are reportedly seething after Eyal Booker joined Celebs Go Dating – despite still being under contract with ITV.

Eyal shot to fame overnight this summer when he became one of the launch contestants on ITV2’s hit dating contest.

He was dumped from the Island just over three weeks in after partner Megan Barton Hanson ditched him for Wes Nelson.

Having failed to couple up, Eyal has wasted no time in joining a rival show in his quest for romance.

This week he was confirmed as one of the famous faces appearing on the fifth series of E4’s Celebs Go Dating.

However, the announcement has apparently infuriated some of Eyal’s fellow Love Island stars.

The Sun claims they are frustrated as they have had to turn down media opportunities to adhere with their Love Island contracts.

Some even suspect that Eyal may be getting special treatment.

“Most of Eyal’s co-stars having been moaning about Eyal getting signed up for Celebs Go Dating when they’re all under contract still,” the newspaper’s source explained. “They are contracted until August.

“They’re pretty furious. They have had to turn down opportunities and thought they were all in the same boat.

“They think he’s become a favourite and has been allowed to break the contract while they’ve been made to wait.”

It is unclear whether Eyal’s arrangement with Celebs Go Dating actually does violate his Love Island deal.

According to The Sun, islanders aren’t permitted to book gigs that clash with the ITV2 show and its spin-offs.

However, with Celebs Go Dating not due to return until the Autumn, it could be scheduled around Eyal’s existing commitments.

An ITV spokesperson said: “We wouldn’t comment on cast contracts.”

Either way, ITV likely stands to benefit from Eyal’s latest reality TV venture.

Reports suggest that Love Island contestants are now forced to hand a cut of their future earnings to the broadcaster.

Love Island 2018 concludes with its grand finale on Monday at 9.00pm on ITV2.
