Alex George has his head turned by one of the new girls on Love Island 2018 tonight.

Currently coupled up with Alexandra Cane, the last new girl to enter the villa, Dr Alex takes a liking to the latest newbie Laura Crane this evening.

Laura joined the show alongside Stephanie Lam and two new boys on Monday night’s show.

In this evening’s episode at 9PM on ITV2, both set about getting to know the guys, and Alex immediately senses a rapport with ‘new Laura’.

Talking to the Beach Hut, Alex reveals how Laura has caught his eye: “The new girls have come in, Laura in particular seems really nice, she’s blonde, blue eyes, she’s natural looking, she love swimming, loves the sea, we spent a bit of time together this morning, had a chat.

“She is the kind of girl that’s quite similar to what my type would be.”

Alexandra spots Alex’s connection to Laura and questions him about it as they lie together in the garden: “I thought you would like Laura. Just insecurities, because you didn’t cuddle me last night.”

She then however offers some rationale behind her insecurities: “Do you know what it is, I don’t think we’ve been through this situation before. Well we haven’t. So I’m just sitting and watching, I’m assessing everything that’s going on, thinking ‘maybe she’s his type.’ I don’t want to stop you from talking to other people.”

Alexandra is beginning to have her doubts about Alex’s commitment too, as Alex admits to the boys he needs to be more upfront with her: “I definitely need to speak to Alexandra, I want to be open and I’ve always said I want to be open and honest here.

“I don’t want her getting the wrong messages or thinking that we are completely exclusive or anything like that. I also don’t want her to think that I’m not at all interested so I just think we need to make sure we’re on the same page and clear things up a little bit.”

Seeking counsel with ‘old Laura’ Anderson, Alexandra admits she’s feeling more and more threatened by the new girls’ arrival.

She confides: “I feel like since the new people have come into the villa, I feel like Alex has just been quite distant. I just feel like that connection has maybe fizzled out. I just don’t know if it’s going to work out.”

Love Island 2018 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
