John Leslie is said to be in talks to join Celebrity Big Brother 2018 this summer.

TV presenter John rose to fame hosting shows such as Blue Peter and This Morning.

He had reportedly been asked to take part in the show last year - with a rumoured £75,000 offer - but declined.

Channel 5 are said to again be in talks to get the telly host on the show.

It comes after he was cleared of sexual assault following an accusation made by a woman in a nightclub.

Appearing on This Morning earlier this month, John said he was looking to move on from the trial.

“It’s about surviving, and keeping going. I’m in bits at the moment,” he told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. “It was a horrible experience for everybody. It’s a case of putting the bits back together again and, hopefully, I can come through this.”

A source told The Sun newspaper of the Celebrity Big Brother rumours: “Producers for the show are particularly keen on signing John. They have tried previously but they are hopeful they can convince him to sign up.

“He has had a couple of meetings and the signs look promising. They think he would make good TV and would have lots to say."

"They hope the temptation of being back on telly will be enough to convince John to take part," they added.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 is rumoured to start in August on Channel 5, airing before the usual 'civilian' summer series.

More rumoured housemates for the Celebrity Big Brother 2018 cast include Meghan Markle's sister Samantha Grant, footballer Jermaine Pennant and Kieran Hayler, the estranged husband of former Celebrity Big Brother winner herself Katie Price.

Casey Johnson is another name linked to Celebrity Big Brother 2018's summer line up, along with Love Island's Gabby Allen and Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas.

TOWIE stars Pete Wicks and Bobby Norris have also both been tipped to join the cast.

Celebrity Big Brother will once again be hosted by Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal, airing on Channel 5.
