Zara McDermott has a plan to take on Adam Collard on Love Island 2018.

Having been warned of Adam’s wayward ways by his ex Rosie, Zara is determined not to make the same mistakes, and is keen to make sure she maintains control over any developing relationship between them.

And it seems Zara’s tactics are paying off when Adam admits he’s falling head over heels for her.

Outlining her strategy with Adam, Zara tells the Beach Hut tonight: “I think I can definitely tame Adam. He’s had a pretty easy ride from girl to girl in here. I feel like I’m not going to be the one to do that. So it’s good having all of the power.”

Elaborating further on the connection between them, Zara admits: “I think me and Adam are moving at a really good pace at the moment. It’s difficult when Rosie’s living literally right under our noses and I don’t want to rub anything in her face too much and move things forward too fast.”

Speaking to Ellie in the garden, Zara admits she is toying with kissing Adam: “I’ve not kissed Adam yet. Not even on the cheek I don’t think. When we came in, yeah, that’s it. I don’t know if it’s too soon. It’s just weird isn’t it? I don’t know what the right thing is to do. It’s just a bit much to know that this time last week he was in bed doing something with another girl.”

It looks as though Zara’s approach is paying off, with Adam telling Ellie that he feels differently about Zara than any of his previous villa conquests.

He explains: “I’ve got a buzz. There wasn’t an initial attraction there (with Rosie) so it was the best of a bad situation and I made it work. I did make it work at the time. But mate, once I actually fully get that buzz about someone at the start, there is no stopping me. That’s when I’m like, the soppy side.”

With a potential first kiss looming between the two, Adam declares he is excited about taking things further with Zara: “I must actually really, really like her. Because I’ve never been so buzzing for a kiss. I’m not going to lie. I’ve been around the block a few times, but I actually want something more now. I’ve never been so buzzing to actually kiss someone.”

And with both Zara and Adam confiding in good friend Ellie, Ellie predicts than the latest developments could see the tide turn for Adam: “I’m so happy for you, you’re going to prove everyone wrong. This is where the perception flips.”

Love Island 2018 airs nightly on ITV2 at 9PM.
