Two couples face eviction from Love Island 2018 in Friday night’s show.

A surprise new twist on Thursday sent shockwaves through the villa, fresh from the latest recoupling.

Last night saw the current Islansers partner up for the third time this series. Dani Dyer chose Jack Fincham, Laura Anderson partnered up with Wes Nelson, Hayley Hughes picked Charlie Frederick, Georgia Steel coupled up with Josh Denzel, Megan Barton Hanson partnered with Eyal Booker, Samira Mighty chose Alex George and finally, Rosie Williams coupled up with Adam Collard.

However one of the couples will leave the villa forever on Friday.

In tonight’s show, a text revealed that the pairings were going to have to make a difficult decision that put two couples in danger.

Alex & Samira and Hayley & Charlie were the ones put up for eviction by the other Islanders.

Viewers will vote to keep their favourite and the couple with the fewest votes will be sent packing.

In Thursday’s episode, Eyal received the bombshell news as the Islanders enjoyed an evening together in the villa.

It read: “Islanders, tonight each couple must vote for the two couples who they think are least compatible. Those who receive the most votes risk being dumped from the island tomorrow. You must now discuss in your couples who you are going to choose and then submit your decision by text.

“You must not discuss your decision with anyone else #theglovesareoff #judgementday.”

Retreating to a private space in their couples, the debate then begins, with Wes stressing to Laura that they have to put their personal feelings about the individuals to one side.

He said: “The only fair way to do this is to answer the question, which is based on pure compatibility. It’s not about who we like the most, who we get on the most with. I think that’s completely unfair to do that. It’s not something to be taken light heartedly.”

Aware that their loyalty in sticking together as a couple may now work against them, Alex concedes that him and Samira could well be at risk: “We’re the friendship couple – yeah of course we do feel vulnerable.”

As each couple casts their votes over text, Megan predicts that the couples’ choices will have major repercussions: “There’s going to be a weird atmosphere after.”

Love Island 2018 results air on Friday at 9PM on ITV2.
