Big Brother UK star John James Parton is reportedly making a reality TV comeback on the Australian version of Love Island.
John James was a housemate on Channel 4’s final series of Big Brother in 2010, known for dating eventual winner Josie Gibson.
The pair’s relationship lasted around eight months, and was documented in fly-on-the-wall show There’s Something About Josie.
They went through a bitter break-up in April 2011, and things were still slightly awkward between them when they reunited on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side in 2016.
Now it looks like John James is about to put Josie behind him once and for all – by finding a new reality TV romance.
The 32-year-old DJ is apparently about to join Love Island in his home country, Australia.
According to Aussie magazine NW, John will arrive on the show later this week, a few days after it began.
He apparently struggles to hold down long-term relationships – but insists he has never cheated.
“Ex-girlfriends would say I was manipulative,” he said. “They felt insecure and that they couldn’t trust me – even if I hadn’t done anything. I’ve never cheated.
“I fall for girls quite deep, quite quick. But I also get out just as quickly.
“My last girlfriend was 19, so there was definitely excitement there. It’s hard to maintain a progression with someone that’s so young.”
While John is familiar to British viewers, Love Island will be his first major splash on telly Down Under.
Like the original, Love Island Australia takes place in Mallorca, Spain, and airs on the sister channel (9GO!) to a main broadcaster (Nine).
Of course, here in the UK, the show is seen as Big Brother’s arch rival.
After losing the ratings war last year, Big Brother appears to have delayed its upcoming series to avoid further clashes.
Love Island, meanwhile, will return to ITV2 for its fourth series on Monday 4th June at 9.00pm.
