Appearing at the auditions, Micky P Kerr sailed through to this week’s live shows.

Leeds lad Micky had told the judges he has an “amazing” job as a primary school teacher – but he’s also a “daft idiot” (his words), and he channels that in to hilarious comedy songs.

He started with a track about travelling in Europe – which featured just one line, ‘I’m off to Paris in a Yaris’ – before sharing an ode to a supermarket bag that he sadly lost. The funniest part came when Amanda had to explain to Simon what a ‘bag for life’ is.

“If you carry on like this, I could see you in the final,” predicted David.

Micky’s success came after previously rejecting FIVE invitations to take part.

“They’ve asked me five times to do it,” said Micky this week. “I thought you know what, I wanted to do it this year.”

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, Micky said: “I did the Edinburgh Festival show in 2017 and it was hard work getting folk in.

“You are flyering every day and sometimes you’re playing for 12 people.

“And you have been working for six hours trying to get them in.”

Micky revealed how he is also pals with a former BGT semi-finalist, comedian singer Jonny Awsum.

“He sold the entire run out so I thought if they ask me this year, I am going to do it. What have I got to lose?” Micky remarked.
