Lost Voice Guy’s Britain’s Got Talent audition wins over the internet

Lost Voice Guy’s Britain’s Got Talent audition has proved a huge hit online.

Perhaps surprisingly, it wasn’t the touching performance from dance group RISE that most people have been watching this year.

Although their performance has racked up 1.7 million viewers, Lost Voice Guy’s routine has seen 2.6 million at the time of writing.

Lost Voice Guy – aka Lee Ridley – told the Chronicle newspaper: “Things haven’t stopped since my set was on BGT on Saturday! It’s actually quite overwhelming. I’m drowning in phone notifications and everyone is getting in touch to say well done.

“I thought I’d make some impact but I never expected all of this. It’s really nice though.

“I appreciate all the support so much, it means the world to me!”

Newcastle comedian Lee is unable to speak due to cerebral palsy, but still leaves crowds in stitches with the help of a text-to-speech app on his iPad.

In his audition, Lee told several gags making light of his situation, such as how the audience might recognise him from saying “cashier number eight” at the Post Office.

“That was hilarious from start to finish, every joke was an absolute zinger,” reviewed David Walliams.

“Comedy is supposed to be edgy, it’s supposed to make us laugh and feel uncomfortable, and you did all of those things brilliantly,” added Amanda Holden.

With four yeses, Lost Voice Guy made it through to the next round.

Joining Lee in the next round is fellow comic Andrew Lancaster.

Andrew absolutely nailed the mannerisms of Donald Trump as he delivered his comedy impressions in the form of a speech from the US President, lampooning Russell Brand, Professor Brian Cox and Nigel Farage (the latter of which earned him a few boos).

Simon was impressed with how “topical and current” he was, while Alesha pondered: “What is there not to like? There’s endless possibilities.”

Britain’s Got Talent 2018 airs live all this week on ITV at 7:30PM.
