ITV bosses are reportedly planning to capitalise on Love Island’s success by launching an ARENA TOUR.

The dating reality show has been a smash hit for digital channel ITV2, with up to three million viewers tuning in last year.

With the upcoming fourth series expected to be just as successful, the broadcaster is now thought to be looking at ways to cash in on Love Island mania.

According to The Sun, one idea under consideration is a Love Island live tour, featuring live challenges and interviews with stars of the show.

It would be staged at arenas across the UK, in front of crowds of thousands, and could even be fronted by regular presenter Caroline Flack.

“No one could have predicted Love Island turning into a huge phenomenon last summer,” the newspaper’s source said.

“ITV raked in millions through advertising but they know they can make even more money with the right projects.

“One such idea being discussed is taking it on the road so fans can fork out their hard-earned cash to get up close and personal with the stars of the show.”

In addition to ticket sales, the broadcaster could earn even more money by selling merchandise at the event.

Chiefs have already dabbled in Love Island-branded goods, last year teaming up with Primark to launch a range of branded t-shirts.

The £6 garments were emblazoned with contestants’ catchphrases, such as ‘100% my type on paper’ and ‘I used to be in Blazin’ Squad’.

An ITV spokesperson told The Sun that talks for a live tour are ‘ongoing’, so it’s unclear when an official announcement could be made.

The fourth revival series of Love Island is expected to begin on ITV2 in June.
