Four contestants have left The Voice UK 2018 in tonight's semi-final results.

It was the penultimate show of The Voice 2018 on Saturday as the 8 remaining singers performed for a place in next week's grand final.

Members of Team Olly, Team JHud, Team Will and Team Tom all fought to stay in the competition and be one step closer to winning a recording contract with Polydor Records.

Following last week's Knockout rounds, it was all even in the teams with's line up of two made up of 18-year-old Tai, a Music Student from Stevenage and 16-year-old student Donel Mangena from Southampton.

Olly Murs had 27-year-old student Lauren Bannon from Weymouth and 29-year-old musician Jamie Grey from Redcar while on Team Tom were 20-year-old Lucy Milburn from Sheffield and 18-year-old student Ruti Olajugbagbe from Essex.

Finally, Jennifer Hudson had both 16-year-old music student Gayatri Nair from Peckham, London, and duo Belle Voci, made up of friends 26-year-old Sophie from Norwich and 25-year-old Emily from Mayfair, still in the running to be crowned The Voice 2018 winner.

In tonight's live show, each performed a brand new solo song live in front of the coaches, live audience and of course those watching at home.

This year around there was no safety net in the form of a fast pass twist with all the remaining contestants facing the public vote.

After the public poll closed, host Emma Willis took to the stage to reveal the results.

In no particular order, those through to the final are Lauren Bannon, Donel Mangen, Belle Voci and Ruti Olajugbagbe.

That meant that Jamie Grey, Gayatri Nair, Lucy Milburn and Tai all went home, leaving each coach with one act.
