Love Island star Chris Hughes is eager to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing - after rejecting rival show Dancing On Ice.

ITV revived its ice skating contest this year, with Chris’s best pal Kem Cetinay among the line-up for celebrity contestants.

However, Chris himself turned down an offer from show bosses - as he thinks he’d be a disaster on the rink.

Speaking to The Sun at Green Flag’s Mud & Motors event, he said: “They approached me the day that I left Love Island.

“I would rather do something fun. I have tried to ice skate and I can’t ice skate for a start – straight up.

“To be honest with you I wouldn’t have wanted to have done it. I was kind of asked to do it and there were a lot of offers around the time.”

The 25-year-old did appear in the audience to support Kem, who went on to reach the semi-final.

While Dancing On Ice may not appeal to Chris, he does fancy his chances at BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.

“I would love to do Strictly, I love the show,” he commented. “I'm not a great dancer, but that is what you train.

“I used to dance the flamenco when I was younger… and on Love Island we did a bit of dancing in the villa at one stage - it was either the Tango or Salsa. I would definitely consider it.”

Chris added that he is “not going in to the jungle” for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Earlier this month, Chris appeared alongside his ex Olivia Attwood in their own ITVBe reality series, Crackin’ On.
