Brooke Vincent explains Dancing On Ice tour ‘snub’

Brooke Vincent has responded to claims she was ‘snubbed’ by the Dancing On Ice tour.

The soap star was runner up on this year’s series but is not part of the live tour, which begins later this month.

Jake Quickenden, who beat Brooke in the final, third placed Max Evans and fourth placed Kem Cetiany are all part of the line up.

But Brooke insisted her absence was merely down to schedule conflicts.

“It would have been amazing but logistically it wasn’t possible while I’m working full-time at Corrie,” she said. “Having spent so much time away from [my boyfriend] Kean and my family, I feel very ready to be settled again.”

Meanwhile, Brooke also cleared up the idea she thought the final was ‘fixed’ when Jake beat her.

After making a remark in the live show earlier this month, Brooke explained: ”I’m a very sarcastic person and I like to have a laugh – I was messing around.

“Jake is very similar to me so he totally understood that it was a joke. He was the better skater, there’s no way I deserved to win over him.”

She told this week’s OK! Magazine: “I was so bad at skating at the start! No one told me how terrible I was, but I knew it.

“I really had to work at it – I can’t even dance well on a night out, let alone on ice. I always thought I had to win in order to feel fulfil and proud of myself, but it turns out that wasn’t the case.

“I walked away from the final genuinely not caring that I didn’t win, I still felt the same high and pride inn myself. Jake worked so hard to win the show. He’s a natural skater and totally deserved it.”

The Dancing On Ice 2018 tour begins this Friday night in London.
