The Voice UK 2018 live shows get a BIG shake up

It’s all change on The Voice UK 2018 this year as the live shows near.

This series will see just the two weekends of live episodes, a semi-final and a grand final.

It’s the fewest live shows The Voice UK has ever seen, down from the five last year and six in the first series that aired on BBC One.

It follows each coach picking just the two finalists each for their teams in the knockout rounds, which concluded at the weekend on ITV.

This year the knockout rounds were pre-recorded as opposed to airing live like in 2017. It means it was the coaches alone who decided which acts made it through to the final stages.

Ahead of the knockouts, six acts remained in each of the four teams, following seven weeks of blind auditions and three weekends of battle rounds.

The knockout stages aired over two weekends, with 12 acts singing each Saturday night.

Coaches Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs each picked two acts from their teams to progress in the competition.

With some tough decisions to make, helping the coaches in the knockouts were some very special guests Craig David, The Black Eyed Peas, Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis and The Voice UK’s reigning champion Mo Jamil.

Those who made it through are now one step closer to the chance of winning a recording contract with Polydor Records.

The Voice UK schedule

Saturday. March 31 – Live Semi Final from 8:30PM.

Saturday. April 7 – Live Final from 8:30PM.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that Presenter Vick Hope has joined The Voice UK as the show’s new digital reporter.

The television and radio presenter will front digital coverage for The Voice UK from the start of the Knockouts this weekend through to the live Semi-Final and Final.

On The Voice UK, Vick takes over from Jamie Miller, who came third on last year’s show, as he focusses on launching his music career after signing with US label Atlantic Records.
