Dancing On Ice's Jake Quickenden has been taken to hospital with an injury after a fall in training.

With just days to go before the final, Jake's performances could be jeopardy.

He's injured his hand and it could prevent him for completing daring lifts in the final routines.

A spokesperson for ITV confirmed: "Jake dislocated his thumb and later went to hospital for treatment.

"He is still expected to perform this weekend."

Jake tweeted: "So I hurt my thumb today had to go for xray and MRI scan but I will 💯 be skating on Sunday, I have not come this far to let a sore thumb stop me! Thanks for the nice messages 😁"

He added to a fan: "Dislocated so just being on the safe side with lifts and stuff mate"

He then told Lorraine today: "It's a lot of fuss over nothing. It's all precautionary, I'll be fine, even if they had to put a pot on it, I'd still be dancing in the final."

"I've come this far, I don't want to not dance in the final."

Jake is currently the odds-on favourite to claim victory during the Dancing On Ice final.

Despite the hand injury, Jake go into this weekend's Dancing on Ice final as the shortest priced favourite OF ALL-TIME, bookmakers Ladbrokes reported on Monday.

Now just a 1/6 shot to go all the way this year, the bookies can reveal that the former X Factor star's odds are shorter than any contestant ever to have featured on the 12-year-old show, a title previously held by double champion Ray Quinn - who was 2/9 back in 2014.

Having been the market leader from the word go, Jake is miles ahead of the competition as far as the betting is concerned, with Brooke Vincent (6/1) and Max Evans (10/1) seemingly set to battle it out for second spot.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Jake's taken to the ice like a duck to water - so much so that he's entered bookie record books as the shortest-priced favourite we've ever seen."

Dancing On Ice 2018 concludes with the live final on Sunday, March 10 on ITV.

The remaining three skaters will all skate one last time before viewers crown their winner.

ITV has already confirmed another series of Dancing On Ice to air in 2019.
