Fans of trashy romantic reality telly your prayers have been answered, The Bachelor is coming to the UK! In a twist from the US series however, it'll be a celeb looking for love, with Charlotte Church's former partner hoping to find his perfect match on the first series on Channel 5 later this year.
25 girls will compete for Gavin's attention and affections while living together in a villa in Spain. As the show progresses, Gavin will whittle down his potential suitors by going on a number of both one on one dates as well as group outings.
The rugby star said: "I'm so excited to have been cast as The Bachelor as I really feel the time is right for me to find a girl to hopefully spend the rest of my life with."
Gavin, who last year took part in reality shows Strictly Come Dancing and 71 Degrees North, continued: "I've always been dedicated to my rugby and continue to train hard but as the season draws to an end I can focus on meeting the right girl."
He added: "It can be hard in my situation to meet women and The Bachelor will give me the unique opportunity to go on some incredible dates and spend quality time getting to know amazing women from all over the UK."
Meanwhile Jeff Ford, director of programmes at Channel 5, confirmed: "We are delighted to have commissioned The Bachelor for Channel 5 and to be bringing this format to UK television
