JB Gill could be the next JLS singer to compete in Strictly Come Dancing.

The performer says he would happily follow in Aston Merrygold's footsteps.

JB's former bandmate Aston appeared on the series last year, but made a shock early exit in the live shows.

Speaking to the Daily Star, JB said he was up for the challenge if an offer came his way.

"Obviously Aston has just done it and I love the show, I would do it, I definitely would," he told the Daily Star newspaper.

However, JB suggested his farm work could get in the way.

He explained: "The hardest thing for me is I have the farm, and it's a good three months away from home, and Christmas is the busiest time of the year for us.

"We are hoping to expand this year and that would include additional help and so on."

But if JB did end up on Strictly, he's not concerned about the so-called 'Strictly curse'.

"She'd be backstage telling me how I can improve and criticising me!" he said of partner Chloe.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One this autumn.

The new series is set to see the return of new judge Shirley Ballas, but long-time pro Brendan Cole has been axed.

"They've made an editorial decision not to have me back on the show," he said last week. "I'm in shock. I got a phone call. I've had 15 incredible series."

Brendan admitted: "I'm disappointed. I've always known this day would come. I'm a very strong character, some don't like that.

"I've never been contracted for more than one year. I still wanted to be part of it. My passion is still very much there."
