Eight contestants remain in the competition but a nasty virus is said to have spread to some of the celebs.

The likes of Donna Air, Kem Cetinay, Lemar and his pro skating partner Melody Le Moal are reported to have all become unwell.

The illness has left the skaters desperately trying to get back on form for their next live performance on the ice.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s a race against time to get fit again ahead of this weekend’s show.

“Not a day goes by when there isn’t someone else being laid low. It has never been this bad on the show, especially as it happened at the start of the series too.”

Skating pro Matt Evers, who had been partnered with Bake Off contestant Candice Brown, said the competition was heating up ahead of the final.

“We are over halfway through and the relentless pace takes its toll,” he explained “Donna Air said she feels like her body needs ‘a week in bed’.

“It’s what we’re all feeling.”

Last Sunday, Cheryl Baker became the latest celeb to be eliminated from the competition, leaving eight celebrities on the series.

Following each of the celeb’s latest live performances, it was singer Cheryl who was voted off Dancing On Ice 2018 after the skate off against singer media personality Donna Air.

In the skate off, judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo decided who to save after the couples skated again.

Judges Jason Gardiner, Ashley Banjo and Christopher Dean all saved Donna, leaving Cheryl to go home. Although her casting vote was not needed, head judge for the week Jayne Torvill also saved Donna.
