However it’s not quite a decision he’s had much of a say in.

Jake, who is engaged to Carl Fogarty’s daughter Danielle, explained: “We are quite a loving couple and we enjoy being together, but at the minute I’m quite knackered.

“My groin is injured and I’m in pain, so it’s on hold at the minute – I’m trying to protect my groin. I’m so tired at the minute and all I want when I come home is to go to sleep.”

The X Factor finalist added to The Sun newspaper: “Danielle is very supportive, though, and has been running me nice, hot baths.

“But me and Danielle are the best we’ve been and are excited about planning our big day.”

Meanwhile, Danielle said: “It’s been tough on us and, to top it off, ice- skating has given Jake a rock-solid bum – he’s now got a better one than me.

“But all he wants to do when he arrives home is to have a bath and go to bed.”

Meanwhile, Jake has insisted he’s taking the show seriously despite his backstage antics with fellow contestant, Love Island’s Kem Cetinay.

“We take things seriously on the ice because we don’t want any injuries,” he said.

But speaking to the Daily Star, Jake did admit: “But when the work is done we will continue to have as much fun as possible.”

Jake is currently the hot favourite to win after repeatedly topping the judges’ scoreboard.
