Dancing On Ice's much awaited TV return was the most watched show in last night's ratings.
Legendary skating duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean reunited with original hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the show that sees celebrity skaters take to the ice in a bid to dance and dazzle their way to glory.
Having originally run on ITV between 2006 and 2014, the series was back on ITV last night for the start of a rebooted show.
A whopping audience of 7.5 million tuned in to the opening episode of the revival, up on the 6.8 million who watched the launch of the final series in 2014.
The episode peaked with an audience of 8.6 million for its two hour long show between 6PM and 8PM that saw the first half of the celebrity skaters perform for the judges.
No celebrity went home, but one did end up bottom of the scoreboard and viewer vote. They go forward to the first skate off next weekend, against the bottom ranked celebrity from those still to perform.
Following Dancing On Ice last night, Vera returned for its eighth series with 7.1 million viewers, it's highest overnight rating to date.
Across on the other side and BBC One took a hit with ITV's big ratings.
Countryfile was the most watched show for the channel, with an audience of 5.8 million. Nature doc Attenborough and The Sea Dragon had 4.4 million while episode 3 of McMafia dropped to 4.1 million.
