Dancing On Ice 2018 line up: Over 80 celebrities auditioned for the show

Over 80 celebs auditioned for the Dancing On Ice 2018 line up, it’s been revealed.

Only 12 ended up making the cut for the cast, who have been performing in the live shows.

It’s Dancing On Ice’s first series in four years and selecting the line up was a long process.

Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have revealed they even helped out select the contestants.

Phillip explained: “Holly and I did, not ‘I don’t want them, I don’t want them’ but when we had our initial meeting we said ‘how about, and we love, and wouldn’t it be funny if…’ and then they came back and said ‘well they can’t do it, they can do it, what do you think of this…'”

The pair went to reveal 80 celebrities took part in auditions for the new series, which begins on Sunday, January 7.

ITV officially confirmed the official Dancing On Ice line up last year (2017).

Soap star Brooke Vincent was revealed as the new series’ first star signing for the returning show. Cheryl Baker was the second celebrity confirmed to compete in Dancing on Ice 2018 before Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay became the third confirmed star.

Suggesting he and Holly may have been been behind Kem’s appearance in the cast, Phil teased: “The fact that Holly and I spent most of our summer devoted to Love Island may have had some sort of bearing on it.”

Joining the confirmed contestants are Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown, X Factor singer Jake Quickenden, Rugby hunk Max Evans, and ITV Weatherman Alex Beresford.

Cricket hero Monty Panesar was also on the cast but was replaced by singer Lemar due to injury.

Actress and TV presenter Donna Air and athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton were then latest names on the official line up.

Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton and Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring complete the lineup.
