The Only Way Is Essex spoilers: Christmas special sees Arg declare his love

Here’s a spoiler-filled preview of The Only Way Is Essex’s Christmas special.

The latest instalment from the cast airs this Sunday night on ITVBe.

They’ve had break ups, make ups, snogs and spats along the way, but can Arg and Gemma finally get their romance back on track?

As Essex gets in the festive spirit, Bobby grills Gemma on her recent all nighter with Arg – and as much as she protests their friendship remains purely platonic, just how truthful is she being? Bobby then attempts to get the truth out of Arg, but will he spill the beans?

When Gemma makes a surprise appearance at Arg’s 30th birthday party, he steps up in front of their gathered friends to make a heartfelt speech.

He says: “I want to thank each and every single one of you for coming to my birthday party tonight, thank you so much.

“Do you know what, just being here and having you all here, honestly I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m so lucky and I’m so grateful.

“I’m looking around the room and there are some friends here that I’ve known in recent times, some friends that I’ve known since I was a teenager and there are people that I’ve met along the way but I still appreciate and love each and every single one of you.”

Then, as he thanks one person in particular, Chloe S gets teary.

“There’s one person in particular that deserves a special shout out,” Arg continues. “Her name is GC. Gemma you’re so lovely to me, you’re always there whenever I need you.

“You treat me with such respect, you’re kind to me and you make me laugh so much.

“There isn’t an instance where I’m not around you where I don’t find you bloody hilarious.

“I know you always think ‘Arg cares too much about what people think and he’s hiding it’ but I just want to let you know now that I don’t care what anyone thinks.”

Meanwhile, after finally putting their past animosity behind them, Pete and Chloe S get their friendship back in order.

Things get frosty at Christmas for Courtney and Chloe M after Courtney fills her friends in on her plan to move Miles into her family home, but Chloe M, Amber and Chris inform Courtney that Myles is less than enthusiastic about the prospect. When word gets back to Myles, he confronts the trio and accuses them of stirring the situation with Courtney.

The festive drama kicks off on Sunday 17th December at 10pm on ITVBe.
