It's currently a two horse race for the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 title.

Bookies reckon either Joe McFadden or Debbie McGee will take the glitterball this month.

Despite being overshadowed by both Debbie McGee and Alexandra Burke in the leaderboard at the weekend, Strictly Come Dancing favourite to win Joe McFadden has tightened his grip on the Glitterball trophy.

The Holby City star is now the 5/4 frontrunner after being supported in from 12/5 on Tuesday. The competition remains fierce however as Debbie McGee’s odds have also shortened, now 11/8 from 12/5, following her American Smooth that saw her score 39.

Alexandra Burke also scored 39 for her Charleston, but has drifted out to 7/1 from 7/2 ahead of the semi-finals as support from punters begins to dry up.

Also making the semi-finals are Gemma Atkinson (8/1) and Mollie King (12/1) after Davood Ghadami was eliminated on Sunday.

Aoife Heffron, Spokeswoman for BoyleSports commented “Strictly Come Dancing is going into the semi-finals as a two horse race between Joe McFadden and Debbie McGee. Both have their loyal supporters that have forced us to cut their odds ahead of the weekend’s performances, but it is Joe who has the slight edge as the 5/4 favourite.”

She added “Another dance off battle for Alexandra Burke has once again damaged her odds of winning after she drifted right out to 7/1 from 7/2, her largest ever odds to win.”
