It was announced on Tuesday evening that Jack had "withdrawn" from the ITV series, after just two days.
A spokesperson for Jack said in a statement: "In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on 'I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' - filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.
"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show."
They added: "Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far."
Viewers were disappointed last night when Jack's exit wasn't shown on TV and the reactions of the other celebs were edited out.
But the Daily Mirror reports what happened off camera, explaining that jack was woken up at "the crack of dawn" to be told the news.
The tabloid says Jack was given the news via the Bush Telegraph in footage unlikely to ever be aired.
Staff then took Jack out of camp, leaving the other celebs in the dark.
"The other campmates would have only found out the news via a laminated piece of paper - and would not have got the chance to say goodbye to Jack before he left," the newspaper says.
As for Jack's possessions in camp, they would have been picked up by a staff member to give to him outside of the show.
I'm A Celebrity Get me Out Of Here continues nightly on ITV at 9PM.
