Jennie McAlpine was left in tears on I'm A Celebrity 2017 tonight.
Just one day into the series, the Coronation Street star shed tears over her children.
In this evening's episode, Jennie and comedian Shappi Khorsandi chatted on a log bonding over their love of their children.
Talking in the Bush Telegraph, Jennie said “I really like Shappi a lot, me and her have both got little ones, her little girl is 4 and my little boy is 3.”
Jennie started to get teary and clearly upset as she continued: “We’re trying not to talk about it too much, missing home and the little ones.”
Shappi also spoke in the Bush Telegraph “I just miss my children as they’re the people I have the most fun with. Nothing is as much fun if they’re not there and I think that’s perfectly natural, as it should be.”
Jennie went into the Jungle dunny to have a cry.
Later in the Bush Telegraph Jennie tried to explain why she’d got so upset: “I got a bit teary in the loo, I was just thinking about missing home and my little boy. It’s hard to know what to talk about because if you talk about it, like now..." before starting to cry again.
Later Jennie said “[My son] Albert didn’t quite get the concept of where I was going so I said I was off to work and there might be crocodiles which he thought was really strange.
"I absolutely know Daddy and Albert will be having the best time together and they’ll be having loads of fun, so yeah, I have to brave for them.”
Meanwhile, the celebs also spoke about their claims to fame.
“I was 17 years old when I joined Coronation Street and I’ve been in it nearly 17 years, so that’s nearly been as long as I wasn’t in it.” said Jennie.
Amir said he used to watch Coronation Street with his Dad, “You and Jack Duckworth would have made a good couple.” said Amir.
“I was star struck when I first met Jennie, I used to watch Coronation Street all the time. I kept having to stop myself calling her Fiz.” added Shappi.
Amir said “The 2004 Summer Olympics changed my life after I won the silver medal. I never expected to come back and have people know my name, it was the Olympics that made me famous.”
He continued, “I had to stop going to the corner shop because kids used to ask for my autograph and I never knew how to do my signature, I was only 17 and I was like why do you want my autograph.”
Dennis joined the conversation when prompted by Jamie, “It was probably 1988 when we beat Liverpool in the FA Cup and I then got sold for a record number to Chelsea in 1990.” Jamie asked how much for and Dennis said it was 1.6m.
Talking in the Bush Telegraph later, Amir said, "I’d have liked to hear what Stanley would have said but he was asleep.”
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here airs nightly on ITV.
