Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman presented the latest Strictly Come Dancing results, revealing which eight couples will be packing their bags and dancing their way to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom next weekend.

But before the results, there was a special music performance from singer songwriter Seal and a fitting Remembrance Day performance from the Strictly professional dancers, accompanied by the RAF Spitfires Choir.

“Oh, wow. Crying! That was beautiful. Amazing choreography. #Strictly #RememberanceSunday” one viewer reacted to the routine.

Another added: “That strictly intro had my heart in my mouth, was nearly crying #Strictly”

Following the Remembrance Day performance from the pros, Tess and Claudia returned to announce the results.

The points awarded to each couple by the judges from Saturday night ere be combined with the results of the viewers’ votes, before Tess delivered the news of which two couples will face each other in the dreaded dance-off.

This weekend, it was TV presenter Ruth Langsford and her partner Anton Du Beke; and Paralympic gold medallist Jonnie Peacock and his professional partner Oti Mabuse.

The fabulous judges, Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, then decided who will be waltzing into next week and who would be leaving the competition for good.

Both couples performed their routines again before the judges delivered their verdicts and it was a unanimous decision as Ruth went home.

After the result Ruth said: “I’m disappointed for Anton because he should be going to Blackpool. He’s made this whole thing so much fun, I’ve absolutely loved it, even the judges’ comments, even Craig’s – he knows I love him really!

“All those wonderful people up there, they all deserve to be going to Blackpool. And you Anton Du Beke, are just the most fabulous man, so funny and you are a beautiful dancer and I hope we will be friends for a very long time.”

Strictly returns next Saturday and Sunday night from Blackpool.
