Alexandra Burke impressed again in tonight's Strictly Come Dancing 2017 live show.

This evening Strictly hit Week 8 of the competition and the pressure was on after last week's shock dance off.

Plus, a spot in next weekend's Blackpool special was up for grabs.

Once again deciding who was on top form this evening were judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, who scored the remaining celebrity couples.

Alexandra and Gorka had the first ever Argentine Tango of this year's Strictly, dancing to Mi Confession by Gotan Project.

The performance won a lot of praise from the judges.

Craig raved: "You never cease to amaze me, that was incredible."

Darcey commented: "It's the sensuality you give, you engage us straight away into your private dance... it was so passionate I loved it."

Shirley declared: "I felt like I was transported to a nightclub where there was just the two of you. Nobody else watching just in your own space where you connected with one another.

"I thought it was superb."

When it came to the scores, Alex did well but couldn't quite grab a perfect 40.

The former X Factor winner left the dance floor with 38 points, nines from Craig and Darcey and 10s from Bruno and Shirley.

But it was enough to see her share top spot on the leaderboard with Davood Ghadami, who danced the Charleston.
