For the revived run, former coaches Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will take up roles on the panel.

They’ll be joined by returning judge Jason Gardiner and brand new judge, Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo.

The panel will for the first time critique routines choreographed by the professional skaters as they set about impressing with their celebrity partners.

Ashley said: “This show feels like it’s embedded into society. I was really excited to be part of the revamp and the refresh.

“I’m going to be myself, be constructive, and just be ready for Jason! I’m going to be honest. If someone is great, I’ll tell them they’re great. If people need telling that it was bad, I’ll tell them.”

Jason added: “It’s an exciting show to do. It’s going to be exciting to see Torvill and Dean on the judging panel because they are ice-skating royalty.

“Their credentials stack up, but it is the first time they’ve judged. It’s quite difficult to be a good judge on these shows and remain impartial.”

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean said: “We are thrilled that Dancing On Ice is returning to ITV next year and delighted to announce our new roles on the judging panel.

“The show struck such a huge chord with the viewers ever since it launched in 2006, with many of them taking up skating as a result. We can’t wait to be back on screen in 2018, with a bigger and better series for a brand new audience.”

So far a total of eleven celebrities have been confirmed for the series.

They include soap star Brooke Vincent, singer Cheryl Baker and Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay.
