Debbie McGee has become the new favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2017.

After her perfect score on Saturday and Sunday's shock result, Debbie is the new favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing following the shock eliminations of one of her biggest rivals, Aston Merrygold.

Aston was voted off by the judges after a dance off battle with Mollie King, a move that has stunned viewers and bookmakers, as he was a 100/1 shot to be eliminated and one of the frontrunners to win.

Debbie has now taken over the top spot, after her terrific Tango saw notoriously harsh judge Craig Revel Horwood get on his knees and bow down to her. As a result her odds were slashed to 6/4 from 4/1 to take home the Glitterball trophy.

Alexandra Burke is the 15/8 second favourite after shortening in from 9/4 with Gemma Atkinson next at 11/2.

Aoife Heffron, Spokeswoman for BoyleSports commented: “Aston Merrygold’s shock exit has rocked Strictly fans and the betting as Debbie McGee takes over as the new favourite to win.”

She added: “Debbie’s odds were drastically slashed into 6/4 from 4/1 after she topped the leaderboard again, scoring the first 40 of the series and even got Craig to bow down to her. She is a force to be reckoned with and now that Aston is out of the running, it only leaves Alexandra as her main competition.”
