Athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton has become the latest celeb confirmed for Dancing On Ice 2018.

Perri is a gold medal winner in events including the hurdles, relay and 400 metres.

Today, Perri announced on BBC’s Radio 1 Xtra that she would be taking part in the revived series next year.

The show’s official Twitter account then confirmed: “Ready, Set, DANCE (on ice). Welcome to the #DancingOnIce family @shakesdrayton ?”

Perri said “It is an opportunity and I was told in the past I’d never be able to run again and that was not nice to be told… Now the fact my body feels good, I’ve been given a challenge, an opportunity, I’m going to go give it my best shot.

“I came across Kem from Love Island and we saw each other at the ice rink. He saw my skills, I saw his skills… I’m better than him. I’m most excited about the costumes!”

Perri is the tenth confirmed celebrity on the line up for the returning show, with now just two more names left to be announced.

Soap star Brooke Vincent was revealed as the new series’ first star signing for the returning show at the end of October.

Cheryl Baker was the second celebrity confirmed to compete in Dancing on Ice 2018 before Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay became the third confirmed star.

Joining them are Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown, X Factor singer Jake Quickenden, Rugby hunk Max Evans, Cricket hero Monty Panesar, ITV Weatherman Alex Beresford and Actress and TV presenter Donna Air.

A total of twelve stars will be skating to impress the ice panel, consisting of skating legends Torvill and Dean, show favourite Jason Gardiner and one remaining judge, as well as the viewers at home.

Dancing On Ice originally ran between 2006 and 2014 but will return for a tenth series next year.

As for who else will join the line up, many other names have been rumoured.
