Megan McKenna QUITS The Only Way Is Essex in fallout from Pete Wicks split
Megan McKenna is quitting The Only Way Is Essex following the fallout of her split from Pete Wicks.
In a statement released to The Sun, Megan said: “I’ve absolutely loved my time on TOWIE, although this series has been emotionally draining so I need a break from all the drama and lies.”
She added: “My music is really important to me and I just want to focus as much of my time on that as possible but I’d like to think I might return at some point. I’d like to thank everyone at Lime Pictures and ITV for their ongoing support.”
A spokesperson for the show commented: “We have mutually agreed with Megan that it’s time for her to take a break from the show. We extend our ‘open door policy’ should Megan want to return assuming it’s relevant for the stories and people we’re following at the time.”
Tonight’s TOWIE sees the fallout from Megan and Pete’s recent split.
Rumours begin to circulate in the wake of Megan and Pete’s split as word spreads that Megan has been seeing her ex boyfriend. Pete and Amber T clash when she defends Megan on the accusations but the situation escalates when both Ruby and Arg and Gatsby weigh in with their own news bites on what really went on. When Lockie hears further rumours, he imparts the news to a devastated Pete.
Meanwhile, Gemma and Bobby’s friendship is still in ruins as the pair continue to dissect their disagreement and work out if there is a way back for the pair. While Chloe L and Chloe M advise Bobby on what to do next, Gemma mulls over their fall out with Charlie, who urges the frenemies to come back together.
When Gemma insists to Chloe S that she doesn’t feel that deep down Bobby wants to work on their friendship. the pair finally air their grievances when Bobby pays a visit at the shop – but is Essex’s longest standing friendship salvageable?
Elsewhere, Jon and Chloe S go head to head when she defends Mike in the aftermath of their argument, and it looks like it’s round two when Jon and Mike bump into one another later that day. Can they clear the air or is the alpha males’ feud only getting worse?
