In this evening’s show, the candidates were summoned to London’s new Design Museum, home to some of the world’s most influential creations.
There, Lord Sugar started by making a surprise announcement intended to help the boys’ team get back on track after two losses in a row: Michaela was instructed to join the Boys team.
Lord Sugar then explained that this week the candidates needed to get their heads around cutting edge, new technology as they programmed and pitched robots.
The Apprentice 2017 results
Jade left the Girls’ Team Graphene with Siobhan, Sarah-Jayne, Joanna, Bushra, Sarah, Anisa and Elizabeth, who brought in a total of £57,827.55.
Michaela meanwhile took charge of the Boys’ Team Vitality with Andrew, Ross, Harrison, James, Charles, Elliot and Sajan and won a total of £5,785.60
Lord Sugar showed his disappointment to the losing team: “This is a bloody shambles. This is the third task, and the third task you’ve lost. I’m not impressed at all, with any of you.”
Michaela chose Elliot and Harrison to return to the boardroom where Lord Sugar revealed his final decision: “I’m going to summarise this. Michaela, I believe that there were some fatal errors made here. The first one was that you didn’t follow the money, and that for a potential business partner is, you know, suicide as far as I’m concerned.
“Harrison, if this was down to a logical thinking computer, they would say you were responsible because we didn’t get any orders for the big ticket item.
“Elliot, you may be very articulate, you may be very skilled in being able to talk as a barrister, but I think sometimes people come into this process thinking that what they’ll do, is they’ll just sit back and let everybody else fall on their sword.”
Admitting he was “struggling”, Lord Sugar concluded: “Elliot, I think that your demeanour, your manner is just not up my alley. You’re not cut out to be my business partner.”
“Elliot, you’re fired!”
Elliot will talk to Rhod Gilbert on You’re Fired! on BBC Two at 10pm, immediately following the main episode. He will be joined by guests Comedian – Russell Kane, TV Presenter – Michelle Ackerley and Entrepreneur – Kavita Oberoi OBE, for a fresh and unique take on the highlights of The Apprentice as well as the first exclusive interview with the fired candidate.
Next episode of The Apprentice airs next Wednesda,y 25th October, 9pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
