The former JLS star’s latest performance was met with a combined score of 35 from the judges, and his odds of winning are now just 5/2.

Speaking on It Takes Two last night, Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood named Aston as the one to beat.

Craig explained: “He is so clean, he is crisp. Every move he makes, it’s really, really clear.

“It’s amazing it’s at this particular level at this point in the competition. Janette [Aston’s pro partner] I know really does crack the whip. She wants perfection and in Aston she had a good body to work with. It all comes together.”

Elsewhere, Aston’s former X Factor rival Alexandra Burke dazzled yet again in Saturday’s live show and remains a genuine contender for the crown at this early stage with odds of 11/4, with Debbie McGee rounding off the top three in the market at 7/2 .

Amazingly even after just three weeks, six celebs are priced at 100/1 to win the Glitter Ball trophy while Gemma Atkinson is the nearest challenger to the front three at 8/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s already a three-horse race as far as our traders are concerned, but another stellar performance from Aston has left Everybody in Love with the JLS star when it comes to bets placed on the show’s eventual winner.”
