Megan McKenna has missed the Official Top 40 Chart with her debut single.
It’s despite going straight to Number 1 on iTunes with her song last week.
Megan put out two singles after a three-part mini reality TV series on ITVBe, following her dreams of launching a country music career.
Called There’s Something About Megan, the show saw the star of TOWIE and Ex On The Beach attempting to break the American country music industry.
After the series, Megan’s single High Heeled Shoes went to Number 1 on iTunes and her second song Far Cry From Love peaked at number two.
The tracks pushed down Pink, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa from the top spot – but Megan’s lead didn’t last.
The songs quickly fell back down the charts and eventually missed the Top 40 officially.
High Heeled Shoes peaked at Number 43 while Far Cry From Love went in at Number 53, the Official Charts Company report.
Nevertheless, it’s a start and Megan is keen to get going on a full album.
“I am going to write about my exes – you have to write about previous relationships,” she told The Sun newspaper. “Song writing is very personal and I think throughout my life I’ve had so many things happen to me. I have so many stories to tell including ex boyfriends and ex friendships.
“I was bullied at school and grew up in that environment with girls not liking me. This is all going to put into my songs. I am a very honest person.”
However don’t expect Megan to be popping up on TOWIE with her music any time soon.
She said: “Singing is my No 1. I am going to keep my performance side of things separate.
“I am not going to perform on Towie. Do you really think you’re going to have the whole of the Towie cast clicking along to a country song? I don’t think so.”
