Celebrities are reportedly battling for a spot on the Dancing On Ice 2018 line up.
ITV confirmed this week that Dancing on Ice will skate back onto screens as it makes a triumphant return to ITV next year.
Legendary skating duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will be reunited with original hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the show that sees celebrity skaters take to the ice in a bid to dance and dazzle their way to glory.
The show will feature a brand new cast of celebrities plucked from the world of TV, music and showbiz, a refreshed line up of skating professionals, a spectacular new set, and more ambitious routines than ever before, the show’s revival will prove unmissable event television.
No celeb names have been confirmed just yet, but The Sun reports that Hollyoaks stars Stephanie Waring, Sarah Jayne Dunn and Anna Passey, are all fighting for a place on the cast.
But supposedly only one of them will be chosen.
"Dancing on Ice bosses have reached out to nearly 50 celebrities in total about taking part in the new series," a source said. “There’s a big pool of talent, but only those who can prove they have the ability to actually tackle some of the harder moves and the training will make it in.
“They really want a glamorous soap star in the show, and three of the Hollyoaks girls are in with a shout but only one of them is going to make it.”
Having originally run on ITV between 2006 and 2014, Dancing On Ice pairs famous faces alongside professional skaters, who each week perform in a bid to impress both the panel and the viewers at home.
Other names on the rumoured Dancing On Ice cast include Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton, rugby player Max Evans and celebrity psychic Sally Morgan.
Dancing On Ice will begin on ITV in the new year.
