Paloma Faith won’t be returning to The Voice UK any time soon.

There’s currently a free spot on the panel of the show after Gavin Rossdale left after just one year.

It was reported earlier this year that The Bush frontman had been dropped for the coaches line up for next year’s series on ITV.

“Gavin was great to work with during the series, but the bosses just felt he wasn’t right in the end,” a source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper. “He didn’t make much of an impact, and they want someone with serious spark and charisma.

“So they have taken the decision that he won’t be back next year.”

Last week Gavin spoke out and confirmed the reports. “It’s okay, it’s showbiz. I’m fully grown, I understand how it works,” he told the Metro newspaper.

Gavin added: “It’s such a massive show and it’s great to be part of a juggernaut. I’m going to miss that side of it because that was a real laugh.

“It was a great experience. I had an amazing time on the show I loved it, I love all the people on there. Especially Tom.”

Paloma Faith was a coach on The Voice during its final series on the BBC.

But she’s ruled out any return – and took aim at her year’s winner Kevin Simm.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Paloma said: “I found it quite difficult. I don’t like the word ‘judge’, I’m naturally the type of person who wants to help people and cultivate talent.

“I guess my ideologies were a little bit pricked because of the outcome of it, because I’m a big fan of the underdog.”

Paloma explained: “I love the idea of the underdog rising up and I felt like that’s what I wanted to happen, and it didn’t. But I don’t think that the final result was correct.

“As somebody who’s a bit of an underdog myself, carving my way up through loads of people not believing I could do it, I wanted to do that. And I don’t know if that was the right platform for it.”

The Voice UK will return to TV in the new year on ITV.
