Brian Conley has been named as the tenth celebrity on the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 line up.

The comedian said: "I'm delighted and honoured to be asked to strut my stuff on this year's Strictly.

"My family all love the show and can't wait to see me do my Dad dancing on national television. I know it's going to be a lot of hard work but I'm up for the challenge, so bring on the spray tan and sequins."

Brian joins fellow comic Susan Calman, who is also a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4 and hosts BBC One's The Boss and Armchair Detectives, on the cast.

Susan said: “Being on Strictly is a dream come true. Finally I can reveal all the moves I've been practising in my kitchen to the nation. I am an enthusiastic home dancer and now on Saturday nights I'll be dancing in other people’s homes in a (hopefully) entertaining way. I am terrified but excited to start my Strictly journey.”

Susan and Brian joins a growing list of celebrity contestants on the new series, with ten names now officially confirmed.

JLS singer Aston Merrygold was also announced this week, joining TV host and Chef Simon Rimmer, best-known for being the chef and co-presenter on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

There's also actor Joe McFadden, best-known for playing the role of Raffaello ‘Raf’ di Lucca in BBC One’s medical drama, Holby City, and The Saturdays' singer Mollie King who became the very first name officially confirmed for the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 cast last Monday.

Actor Davood Ghadami became the next name to be revealed on the Strictly line up by the BBC. Best known for his role as Kush Kazemi in EastEnders, Davood said, “Having the opportunity to take part in this year’s Strictly is such an honour. "

On Wednesday, host of ITV's This Morning and regular Loose Women panellist Ruth Langsford became the third name to be announced for the show while Thursday saw Actress Gemma Atkinson confirmed.

Alongside those officially announced, rumoured celebs for the new series include Dame Joan Collins, Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom Parker, Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock and footballer Frank Lampard.
