The wacky business entrepreneur appeared on last year's series of the BBC One show and was a hit with viewers.
He was given the boot by Lord Sugar after one of the show's worst results in ten years and immediately fired in am Apprentice first.
Now Karthik could become the latest candidate from The Apprentice to end up on Celebrity Big Brother, following the likes of Luisa Zissman, Katie Hopkins, James Hill and Saira khan.
“He’s a real character and will really shake things up,” a source told The Sun today.
The insider added: “He says what he thinks and will be a real asset to the house.”
Karthik is rumoured to be a last minute replacement after the show was reportedly thrown into chaos last night after another star quit.
Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward is said to have pulled out just a day before launch night.
It apparently left producers desperate to find a last minute replacement.
“Dawn has decided not to take part in the show at the very last minute," a source said. “She may have done reality TV in the past but she got cold feet about doing CBB.
“The shows bosses are desperately trying to find someone to fill her boots – which will be a hard task considering she’s such a character.”
Dawn is reportedly the FOURTH housemate to depart this year's line up before the series even begins.
Those who still set to join the Celebrity Big Brother 2017 line up tonight include YouTuber Trisha Paytas, X Factor's Amelia Lily, Gogglebox’s Sandi Bogle, TV psychic Derek Acorah, Absolutely Fabulous star Helen Lederer and Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding.
Celebrity Big Brother 2017 launches on Tuesday, August 1 at 9PM on Channel 5.
