Love Island's Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes to join Celebrity Big Brother?

Love Island 2017: Kem and Chris talking.

Love Island contestants Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes could be set for the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Fresh from their stint on the ITV2 series, the pair have supposedly been offered £100,000 EACH to appear in CBB.

The not particularly believable rumours come from the Daily Star, who claim that Big Brother producers are keen to take advantage of the duo's popularity.

"CBB bookers at Endemol have made a financial offer of £100,000 each for Love Island's Chris and Kem to take part in the new series which kicks off next month," a source said.

The deal is said to involve the pair joining halfway through the series, given it launches in less than a week's time.

"The boys are meeting producers next week in London after the wrap party on Sunday night and producers are desperate to snap them up as they've both got the online social media influence to get viewers tuning into the new series," the source said.

It's not clear if they'd actually be housemates or simply appear as part of a task.

In any case, if true, it suggests a big behind the scenes change given Love Island stars were said to be 'banned' from Celebrity Big Brother.

"The producers want really fiery characters such as Megan McKenna and Stephen Bear," the source said earlier this year. "They feel the Love Island stars aren't ratchet enough for them, it's not just a matter of show rivalry."

Of course, that was before this summer's Love Island proved to be a mega hit, averaging almost 3 million viewers and up over a million on 2016's run.

Meanwhile, another Love Island 2017 contestant is also in talks for another reality TV appearance.

Sam Gowland is said to have been invited to join the cast of Geordie Shore on MTV.

“While nothing is certain, talks are ongoing," a source told the Mirror.

Love Island will return to ITV2 in the summer of 2018 for Series 4.

Celebrity Big Brother begins on Tuesday, August 1 on Channel 5.
