Channel 4 today confirmed that the Shipwrecked would once again be making a return to the channel as they began casting for the new series. The desert island reality series is set to change format once again, the show's makers coy when asked about details of the show.
The new series will be filmed later this year in the Cook Islands again and will air for 15 episodes later on in the year.
Other than revealing that the show - which has been axed twice before - would be going "back to basics", Neil McCallum, head of T4 and music, was right lipped about the details, saying: "As one of the pioneering reality shows, Shipwrecked has always proved to be a firm favourite amongst T4 fans. So it's great to be bringing the show back this autumn, with its refreshed format and new back-to-basics approach to island life."
Meanwhile exec producer Tayte Simpson added: "The rules and format will be kept tightly under wraps, but we can say that applicants should be prepared for the experience to be tougher than ever... Yes it's paradise, but this is no summer holiday."
